Contener Program Visits Szychowski Museum

Visit to Szychowski Museum

Apóstoles, February 2026.

More than 40 children from the Contener Program made an educational visit to the Juan Szychowski Historical Museum, located at the La Cachuera complex in Apóstoles, Misiones. The activity, organized as part of the program's vacation workshops, allowed children from the Santa Bárbara neighborhood to learn about the history of the yerba mate industry in the region.

During the visit, the children toured the different halls of the museum, where they could observe historical production tools, period photographs, and objects that narrate the evolution of yerba mate as a central productive activity in Misiones. The museum guides adapted the explanations for the youngest visitors, turning the experience into an interactive journey through local history.

"For many of these kids, it's their first time visiting a museum. It's an opportunity for them to connect with their identity and the history of their community," explained one of the Contener Program teachers.

The day also included outdoor activities in the complex's gardens, where the children enjoyed group games and a shared snack. The experience is part of the Contener Program's comprehensive approach of offering educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities.

The Contener Program is possible thanks to coordinated work between DYA, the Bronislada Kruchowski de Szychowski Foundation of La Cachuera, and the Municipality of Apóstoles.
