What We Do
Projects, research, and advisory services for Latin America
From Development and Self-Management – DYA we design and implement projects, research, and advisory services that improve the living conditions of communities in Latin America, with special focus on girls, boys, and adolescents. Additionally, we strengthen public policy through social participation and multi-stakeholder dialogue.
Comprehensive social programs
DYA centers its institutional work on sustainable development of the most vulnerable population, the promotion of their rights and active participation of their social organizations in the identification, design, and implementation of initiatives that improve family life, especially for children, adolescents, and young people.
The distinctive hallmark that characterizes our programs is that they are oriented toward strengthening public policy to ensure that these opportunities are scalable and endure over time.
Research and evaluations
We have teams of researchers specialized in various areas capable of conducting diagnoses on production chains, labor rights, and social problems. We also develop intervention tools based on diagnoses and use participatory methodologies for the design and piloting of management tools alongside businesses, States, and communities.
Our vast development experience allows us to evaluate development projects funded by businesses and international cooperation, contributing to continuous improvement of processes. We advise organizations on the design, monitoring, planning, and evaluation of projects.
Some of our publications can be found in resources.
How we work
Knowledge Management and Transfer
We research realities, conduct diagnoses and, based on them, create, manage, and share innovative development models. We transfer proven methodologies that promote sustainable growth and community well-being. Additionally, we drive certified training programs for teachers, public officials, and community leaders, in alliance with universities.
Advocacy for Public Policy
We act as catalysts for change, strengthening multi-stakeholder dialogue spaces and establishing strategic alliances at regional, national, and local levels to influence inclusive policies. We work with public officials, bringing community experiences closer to ensure policy consistency, through training and technical assistance.
Strengthening Local Capacities
We empower social actors and civil society organizations, improving their ability to demand rights and manage effective and sustainable solutions. We place special emphasis on strengthening the capacities of the most vulnerable populations, including migrants, women, and young people.
