Voices and Identities That Flourish in Tucumán

Voices in Tucumán

In one of Tucumán's most emblematic rural areas, where the closure of sugar mills left deep scars but also ignited resistance, life today beats to the rhythm of new productions like lemons and blueberries. Young people find in the Youth Hubs of Santa Lucía and Teniente Berdina a place to grow, learn, and make their voices heard.

A journey to identity through art

In Santa Lucía, the Identity and Memory workshop, coordinated by visual artist Guadalupe Rearte, invited adolescents to create self-portraits using the cyanotype technique, an ancient photographic process. "Revealing one's own image was a metaphor: identity is built with time, care, and memory," recounts Rearte.

The first live broadcast

The radio workshop Ponele Onda took the experience to another level. Children and adolescents learned how radio works, designed interviews, and carried out their first live broadcast on Radio "La Voz de la Cultura."

"It was moving to hear them speak with such confidence. Radio gave them the opportunity to say: 'We are here, this is our place, and we have a lot to contribute,'" recounts Noelia Mercado, coordinator of the Youth Hubs.

These activities are bridges to the future. Each donation sustains workshops, school support, and cultural activities that transform rural adolescents' lives.
