Maps That Care
At the Youth Hub in Santa Lucía (Tucumán, Argentina), more than 50 adolescents participated in the workshop "Maps that care: community resources for adolescent well-being," a joint initiative between DYA and the Ministry of Health of Tucumán.
Students from three schools worked in groups to create visual maps of their environment, identifying factors that promote mental health, daily challenges, and nearby support networks.
"The focus of the workshop was the young people themselves, producers of knowledge about their reality. We worked on the preventive approach to risk behaviors, making visible the actors who host and care," explained Vanesa Cordero, psychologist at Siprosa.
From DYA, Lic. Betina Castro highlighted: "Doing mental health prevention requires listening to and understanding the ways in which young people relate to their peers, their families, and their communities."
The Youth Hubs in Tucumán are socio-educational spaces where rural adolescents find school support, vocational guidance, emotional containment, and opportunities to develop personal and community projects.
