PAHNAL Ecuador — National Humanitarian Action Platform

The National Humanitarian Action Platform (PAHNAL Ecuador) is a meeting space for Ecuadorian humanitarian civil society organizations. It was established in October 2025 and currently comprises 9 organizations:

  • Desarrollo y Autogestión (DYA)
  • Fundación Huancavilca
  • Fundación JUCONI
  • Fundación Lunita Lunera
  • KIMIRINA
  • Nación de Paz
  • Paz y Esperanza

With the support of DIAKONIE.

Coordination is carried out by the NGO Desarrollo y Autogestión (DYA), with the cooperation of DIAKONIE Colombia.

What brings us together?

  • We come together to have a safe and welcoming space for conversation and debate.
  • We want to act in a coordinated manner to defend the human rights of people in situations of high vulnerability in Ecuador.
  • We aim to engage in non-partisan political advocacy to defend the autonomous action of civil society. In this way, we can issue collective statements to promote an active civil society that fosters inclusion, care, and the protection of rights.
  • We want to generate shared projects among humanitarian organizations, for example in training, information exchange, sharing experiences, or promoting the protection and safety of organizational personnel.
  • We are interested in opening a space for dialogue between civil society, the State, and international cooperation to strengthen Ecuador's humanitarian architecture and improve assistance to the most vulnerable populations or those in emergency situations.
